ABOUT JENNY BUCKLEY
Jenny Buckley Care Matters is the business that I have been dreaming of starting for years. It provides a service that was born out of the realization that I could make a difference in the way that individuals and families experience illness and medical treatment. I intend to use my extensive experience and knowledge, gained from working in community based palliative care for over twenty years, to fill a void that currently exists in our healthcare system. That void becomes painfully evident when patients and families are left to face the consequence of their illness and its treatment, and can create a very real and massive sense of helplessness. I am perfectly positioned to lend my unique skill set to bring relief to families in this very difficult space.
My passion has driven my career, which has included several leadership positions in the metro-Atlanta area, my home for nearly 25 years. In these positions, I have built relationships with multiple cancer centers, palliative care teams, critical care groups, and the very best home care programs. While I am often asked to speak, teach, and/or write about my speciality, nothing gives me greater satisfaction than sitting with a family in their living room and helping them create sustainable solutions for their ailing loved one.
As a nurse with 20 years of experience, a cancer survivor, and a family member of cancer survivors, I well understand the importance of quality nursing care. Those experiences have repeatedly demonstrated that living with and through an illness -- and all that it requires -- isn’t always addressed in doctor’s visits and hospital stays. I know that healing comes in a variety of forms and, it matters how you are treated -- not just with medicine, but how you, as a person, and your family, is treated.
I am married and live in Roswell, Georgia with my husband and our two sons.
